Confessions of a Blog Flake
I started my first blog at the end of 2004. Since then there have been many incarnations of some sort of blog along the way. This has led some to call me a blog flake. It’s true. I don’t deny it. For whatever reason, I lose interest, want a new look, find some new way to present the thing and I pack up the blog and start a new one.
All of this flightiness has given me a pretty good education about blogging, code and the tools used to create such things and for that I have no regrets about being flaky.
It is time, however, to sit in one place for a while. A resolution I made not only for the new year, but for the first year of my 6th decade on earth, has been to focus, keep still and pay attention to a few things. This blog is a product of that resolution.
There are several things I could think of to blog about in all this focusing. One being art, since I’m an artist, but for whatever reason, I just can’t get that off the ground. The blog before the last one was supposed to be all about art. So much for that. Not to say I won’t post whatever artistic endeavors I’m engaged in, but this won’t be an art blog as much as I love art. And wine. And food and whatever.
After mulling it over as one might mull when mulling, I decided to dedicate this blog to the travel adventures of the queen and I. Actually, I did have a travel blog set up but it suffered due to lack of time. Now there is time and the time is now.
My travel cohort, known in this arena (as well as others) is ‘the queen’. We both love to travel and have completely embraced the zen of the road trip. We used to fly everywhere. No more. Those full body scans at the airport sealed the deal for me. But I also love to drive.
Now, the car is our favorite carrier and we plan our trips around quirky roadside attractions, funky places to eat, scenic drives and knit shops (because the queen likes her knit shops).
So click it or ticket. We’re livin’ to drive.
