Wait… it’s been over a year??

Well dang it all to hell. It’s hard to believe I haven’t posted here in over a year. That’s a long time. Unless, of course, you’re comparing it to the entire history of time. In that case, it’s an insignificant speck of dust on the hair of a flea on a Chiweenie in the middle of Mongolia. But let’s keep it simple — it’s been a spell (as they say in east Texas).

I know you’ve been thinking, hey, Elizabeth, what the heck-far (in Texas ‘far’ is fire. Just an fyi)? Well, 2013, for the most part, was a bit of a trying year. Yet it was punctuated at the end with a great deal of fun and frivolity the biggest news being the queen and I were able to get married in Connecticut in October. This was such a fun time and lovely celebration we are still basking in the fabulousness of it all in that we haven’t gotten divorced ala Melissa Etheridge and other gay couples who spend years and years together, get married, only to divorce not long after. I don’t understand that, but I’m no Judge Judy. Totes whatevs.

But before I lament about the hardships that we endured in 2013, let me take you back to the thrilling days of 2012. In December of that famed year, we took a little trip to the quaint suthun town of Millidgeville, Gaw-jah, to visit our fabulous, beautiful pal, Kim. She is a tireless fighter for all those who have no voice as well as a wonderful folk artist.

kimShe had a funky shop called The Folks’ Art but has since moved on from there, though she’s still creating art and showing others how to express and empower themselves through art. And ya gotta love that gorgeous, gray mane. Plus she has a delicious accent.

I also got a ukulele. My dog has fleas.

More posting regularity to come.

Just clicked on the link to your blog on the off-chance, and lo and behold you are back on! Congratulations on getting married in October – Brenda and I tied the knot here in Canada on April 7, which is more than a month now. And they said it wouldn’t last! Hope you’ve sailed into calmer waters now.
